I'm married to my high school sweetheart, Brittney and we are licensed foster parents through children's division.
Hallsville United Methodist Church is my home church and as a lifelong United Methodist - I try to do everything as Christ would do if he were walking next to me.
I'm a proud first generation college graduate. I received a bachelors degree in political science (2009) and a masters degree in public affairs, specializing in nonprofit management (2011) from the University of Missouri.
I have experience serving in executive positions in nonprofit organizations (president of the Mozambique Orphanage Fund 2012-2015) to civic organizations (Rotaract of Columbia 2012-2015) and professional associations (APLU Council on Governmental Affairs Executive Committee 2014-2016).
I spent 5 years working for the University of Missouri System, lobbying about 3 years on federal issues and for a year on health care issues.
After answering a call to ministry, I went to work for the Missouri Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. I was the Associate Director of the Mozambique Initiative -- a partnership between Missouri and Mozambique churches. With this initiative, I have the privilege of raising and overseeing approximately $700,000 in annual support of ministry in Mozambique. I'm also in the candidacy process of pursuing ordained ministry within the United Methodist church and am a part-time seminary student through Asbury Theological Seminary. In June 2018, I was commissioned as a provisional deacon within the Missouri Annual Conference. I worked for the Missouri Annual Conference for nearly three years.
Now, I am the Director of Policy and Advocacy for Kids Win Missouri, a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to advocate for advancing child-being. I am the organization's presence in the state capitol, lobbying on issues of early childhood education, foster and adoption issues, healthcare for children, among other issues. I began working for Kids Win Missouri in July 2018.
For Fun
I'm an avid (slow) runner -- having run more than 13 half marathons and 2 full marathons.
I was born and raised an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoy collecting Cardinals memorabilia. He has also been a baseball card collector for about 20 years and following Mizzou men's basketball and football.
What's better than traveling? I have a blast traveling and meeting people. From traveling to Mozambique, Africa to various places in the United States -- there's always more to see, learn, and explore in this world.
Naturally, I enjoy politics and the political process. Why else would someone get a bachelors degree in political science?
